On Sunday, Mum & Dad took me, Georgie and Billy across to Lacock Abbey. We love it at Lacock but because of our long summer holiday we haven’t been for what seems like ages! It was a lovely sunny afternoon and, as ever, loads of people stopped to talk to us. We went straight to the Abbey Gardens where we had coffee (not us birds, you understand) and biscuits (including us birds!!!) in the Orchard sat in the sun. Unusually we went in the Cloisters this time and the staff in there were thrilled to see us. In the gardens we saw the grey cat who we haven’t seen for a long time but, as usual, he was afraid of us! After we left the Abbey we went through the village to the ford and then back past the school where, because it was Sunday, there were no children.
Well, here we are again! On Saturday we all got up incredibly early for the 05:30 start to go to Exmouth for their Carnival Day. It was another Birdline Show and the party consisted of:- Dad, Mum, Adam, Debbie, Me, Georgie, Billy, Ruby, Polly and Charlie. It drizzled a little in the morning but by lunchtime had dried up and we had a brilliant time! There were people 6-deep at times as we all proved so popular! Sales and Tombola went very well as did Donations and we totalled £294.38. We finished at 17:00 but the roads were being closed for the Carnival Procession so Mum, Dad & Adam went to the local Wetherspoons for a meal before the long drive home. It was about 22:00 when we got home but it was dark for most of our travelling time so we all got some sleep then! We had a brilliant position on one of the main thoroughfares from town to the Strand and were able to park the cars and trailer behind the gazebo. Because the weather turned nice, the Gazebo was nice and dry when we packed up and we had Adam’s muscles to make light work of the heavy things!
