Well I have to say it, "I feel very sorry for Phoebe". She went down the vets today. She told me she found it strange in the car seeing the scenery rush past while she wasn't flapping her wings - in fact she kept trying to flap her wings in the car (not like Sydney and Me who are used to it!) - she has a lot to learn! Once there she was taken out to a back room by Stacey where they put this mask of gas over her face and then she fell asleep (awww - good thing too). While asleep they took a blood sample from her wing and fitted her with a microchip. All's well so far. Then they took a length of foam pipe lagging and made a collar which they put around her neck. This collar is supposed to stop her plucking her feathers. The vet said to our Dad that he hopes it is long enough but if not, bring her back and they'll gas her down and fit a longer one! So, Phoebe, listen very carefully (I shall say this only once!); you had better not chew any of your feathers or you'll have to go through all this again! You have been warned!! Will it work? Well we all hope so as she will be really handsome with all of her feathers and our Dad says if she grows them, she can go to France in the Summer if she accepts a harness. Personally I hope she wont accept the harness as she will be taking mine and Sydneys place although I'm trying to persuade my Dad that if I promise to sit on Mum's hand, I could go as well - I mean I've been holidaying with them for years now. I do understand why they want to take Phoebe - in case she chews her feathers while they are away but I don't see why I have to stay at home. Only time will tell. Watch this space!!!
