Well the biggest change that affects us all is that Gill has given up work completely to look after Dad and everyone else! But this means now that they're both at home (and I use the term loosely for reasons that will soon become evident), they make more use of the caravan so they are never at home! Still, I shouldn't really grumble because Sydney and I often go away with them too. For example we had 2 weeks in Yorkshire this year which was absolutely superb. The weather was really kind to us in June and the people up there were really friendly. We split the holiday into a week in the Dales and a week in the Moors.
We didn't go but Dad and Adam went to Germany at Easter and couldn't stop talking about it so it must have been good! We've been to Cheltenham, Leominster, Ringwood and, of course, there are the times when Phoebe and Georgie go, like when they went to Devon!
But to top it all, Sydney and I spent 6 weeks in Spain this Summer. Fortunately for Dad and Syd (not sure about me though) we went while Spain was experiencing its hottest summer for many years. Syd, as usual, coped well but there were occassions where I needed a spray to cool me down and I made them walk or sit in the shade! We had ten days near Valencia; three weeks near Barcelona; and ten days near Burgos in the Rioja region of Spain.
At the end of October, Phoebe is going to Ringwood again and then in November Mum and Dad are off to Italy, Poland and Scotland! Every time I hear Dad say to Stacey, "I'll make it up to you" we know they're planning to go off somewhere else! Still they like caravanning over the winter and as me and Sydney are used to the colder weather, we tend to go with them then so, here's hoping!
On the Fid front, Jasper has now left us (see under Absent Friends for more information as to why they made that heartbreaking decision. Also Ollie has gone to a new Safe-house who we think wants to Foster him which will be tremendous news for him. The new Safe-house lives on a farm so noise isn't so much an issue and Dad swore blind that Ollie was just trying to out-shout the Macaws so without them he should be quieter anyway! He was another cuddly tame one of us Fids who talked but could be a bit noisy! Dolly and Ollie got divorced, so to speak, and wanted nothing more to do with each other and with Dolly's eating problems with change, Dad decided she had to stay with us. There has been one more change on the Fid front - Polly (What a name for a parrot!!!) has joined us. She is another Birdline bird who has joined us to be trained to be a show bird. We haven't met her yet as she is still upstairs in quarantine but we have definitely heard her! She is another Ammie and all of us Ammies can be noisy at times but if I'm honest, Polly isn't half as noisy as Ollie was! Read all about Polly at the bottom of the list under The Birds!
Well there's one more change to tell you about which affects us all and that is from May Adam got a new job at Stonehenge School and he now lives back at home! This is kind of nice because he looks after us as well but whenever he does the chores, they're always early in the morning as Adam is an Early Bird (and Sydney and I are not! We don't need to catch the proverbial worm, Adam, 'cos you bring us our food so not so many early mornings, eh?!).
Right, now I know I shouldn't say this BUT, I really am planning to update this blog more frequently from now on so keep watching! When Dad has finished processing his photos of Spain I will add them but, to be honest, he's nearly as bad as me!
I'll say good-bye now (well actually, I won't because I can't; so I'll say Hello like I always do when people leave LOL!), and see you in a month or two!
