Safehouse Bird 05 - Chilli Pepper
Chilli Pepper is a 7 1/2 yr old Pategonian Conure. She came to me on 7th February 2012 to safehouse after a relationship split at her old house. I will get to know her; write an Evaluation; and then she will go on the re-homing list. She is one of Birdline's show birds and is, therefore, clipped. She has an unusual feature in that if her cage is at normal height and I try to get her out she is bitey and doesn't really want to know but the minute I put her cage on the floor, she is as good as gold and once out, she is as good as gold at any height. Sounds like the beginnings of Cage Territorialism which might have been brought on by the fact that she didn't come with her original cage. Out of her cage (and when her cage is on the floor) she steps up as good as gold and is happy to sit with me while I work away on the computer. She is supposed to favour women but I have had no problems with her since she came. It's nice to have a smaller parrot though she is very noisy (not as noisy as the Cockatoos or Mealy Amazons though - thankfully!).
Chilli Pepper Finds a home.
Chilli Pepper has now gone to her new home. We wish her luck. She is joining another Patagonian Conure so hopefully she will be very happy. Chilli Pepper went to her new home on 26/4/2012.
